Scarlet Night is the flagship event of every Virgin Voyages sailing — an immersive, ship-wide celebration drenched in red that features pop-up performances, live music, a massive pool-deck dance party, and a sense of communal euphoria that defines the Virgin brand. Every guest is asked to wear something red (or scarlet), and the ship transforms from bow to stern with scarlet lighting, themed decorations, and roaming performers. It happens once per voyage and is widely regarded as the single most memorable night on any Virgin sailing. No cover; drinks are Bar Tab or per-drink.

Drinks & Service

All bars across the ship participate in Scarlet Night, and many feature special red-themed cocktails. The "Scarlet Night" signature cocktail (vodka, cranberry, blood orange, sparkling wine float) is the event drink and it is festive, photogenic, and surprisingly drinkable. Red wine flows freely from every bar. Champagne is popped on the pool deck during the climactic moments. Where it falls short: every bar on the ship is busy simultaneously, which means wait times are the longest of the voyage at every location. The themed cocktails are more about color than craft. Pre-game in your cabin or at a quieter bar before the main event kicks off around 10 PM.

Service

The entertainment team delivers their best performance of the voyage on Scarlet Night. Pop-up performances appear throughout the ship — aerial artists on the pool deck, musicians in unexpected locations, dancers emerging from crowds. The DJ set builds masterfully toward the pool-deck crescendo. The Captain and officers participate visibly, which adds to the communal feeling. The crew is fully in costume and fully committed. The overall event choreography — the way the energy builds from early evening through the midnight climax — is expertly managed. This is where Virgin's entertainment investment pays its greatest dividend.

Atmosphere

Scarlet Night is genuinely special. The sight of an entire ship — 2,700+ adults — dressed in red, dancing under scarlet-lit skies on the open ocean, creates something that transcends typical cruise entertainment. The pool-deck party is the centerpiece: the pool itself is lit red, performers appear from above and below, and the DJ drives the crowd to a collective peak.
