Overview

Carnival Splendor is a 113,323 gross ton cruise ship and the only Concordia-class vessel in Carnival's fleet. Built in 2008 at Fincantieri's Sestri Ponente shipyard in Italy, Splendor was originally designed for Costa Cruises but transferred to Carnival during construction, giving her unique design elements not found on other Carnival ships.

The ship was christened by Myleene Klass, British musician and television presenter, on July 10, 2008, in Dover, England. The ceremony featured a memorable moment when a Royal Navy diver climbed five decks on a rope to break the champagne bottle by hand.

Notable for featuring the largest spa in the Carnival fleet—a 21,000 square foot, two-deck facility—Splendor was also the first Carnival ship to sail around Cape Horn when relocating from Europe to Long Beach in 2009. Since October 2019, she has been homeported in Sydney, Australia.
